Every conversation is a reflection of the soul. No matter how long we spend talking about the weather, words and silences intervene only to reveal the truth about those who speak and those who remain in silence.
In La Charla four artists engage in a conversation woven together using different languages of expression: flamenco, dance, and classical music. The dance, singing, guitars, rhythms, and silence is the dialect used in this conversation. It is almost as if a small universe were created where each star has its own light, but only becomes aware of how bright it can shine only through seeing the brightness of its fellow stars.
Cristina, Maria, Tino and Raul embark on a journey leading them to the center of themselves: their joys, fears, doubts, certainties, companionship, solitude, their jokes, and their bitterness.
Flamenco styles such as, soleares, vidalita, seguiriya, canciones… are used to express this journey. Mixing memories and desires as a poet would, we can be touched with pieces of much depth and beauty.
La Charla reveals to us that flamenco is free, it speaks of life therefore it is life.
